Judges in all events are required to complete a series of online training modules by April 17.
All judges must go into a Test Campus room with another person from their school to test that their camera and microphone are working.
Judges can access a Test Campus Room by logging into Tabroom.com, selecting their email in the upper right corner, and selecting the video icon next to “Test Campus Room” in the right sidebar.
All judges must watch a recorded 2025 Last-Chance Qualifier judge training and certify completion in Tabroom.com.
Judges can find the training in Tabroom.com by navigating to the “Judge Certifications” button and selecting the blue and white edit button next to “Last-Chance Qualifier Judge Training.” Judges can also find the training here.
All judges must complete Level 1: Intro to Multicultural Competence and certify completion in Tabroom.com.
Speech judges must complete Level 1: Intro to Judging Speech and certify completion in Tabroom.com.
Debate judges (LD, PF, BQ, WS) must complete Level 1: Intro to Judging Debate and certify completion in Tabroom.com.
Congress judges (House, Senate) must complete Level 1: Intro to Judging Congress and certify completion in Tabroom.com.
To certify completion of required training courses in Tabroom.com, judges should navigate to the “Judge Certifications” button, select the blue and white edit button next to the module in question, select “Yes,” and save.
If judges have already completed the Level 1 modules since March 15, 2024, they do not need to be retaken.
Penalty: Judges who do not complete the training by the deadline will be removed from the judging pool, and the school who provided them will be charged a $200 fee to cover their obligation. The fee must be paid before students from their school can participate in the Last-Chance Qualifier.
Optional Judge Q&A Meeting: An optional Zoom meeting will be held on Thursday, April 23, at 7:00 p.m. Central Time. All judges are welcome to attend, and there is no penalty for judges who do not attend. Upon entering the meeting, judges will be placed into a breakout room to ask NSDA staff members any questions they have about judging at the event. Judges should register in advance to be sent the link to join.
If you have more questions regarding judging at this event, please check out the NSDA LCQ page and choose the "Judges" tab.
